Molecular switches

Development of рН-dependent conformational switches that cause liposome opening and targeted delivery of antitumor drugs

switches

Liposomes are a promising technique for targeted delivery of drugs dissolved in the aqueous inner volume, in particular, for cancer therapy.

The рН-dependent conformational switches developed by us based on the 3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane scaffold are incorporated in liposomes and cause their opening in acidic environment characteristic for tumor tissues, leading to the release of a drug compound.
